Man, ATP is out of control. They have like 5 awesome events:

  1. ATP with the Dirty Three: Dirty Three, Nick Cave, Grinderman, A Silver Mt Zion, Conway Savage, Mick Harvey, Spiritualized Acoustic Mainlines (!), Low
  2. ATP vs The Fans: – Modest Mouse, Mogwai, Yo Lat Tengo, Wilco, Built to Spill, Echo and the Bunnymen, Explosions in the Sky, Band of Horses, Les Savy Fav, Current 93, Slint
  3. ATP at Primavera Sound: Sonic Youth doing Daydream Nation, Slint doing Spiderland, Built to Spill, Band of Horses, Comets on Fire, Modest Mouse, The Dirty Three, Low, THE DURUTTI COLUMN (separate post coming on primavera later)
  4. ATP Don’t Look Back: Slint doing Spiderland, Sonic Youth doing Daydream Nation, House of Love doing their first album. Oh my god. To Die for.
  5. Awesomely, Sonic Youth is doing Daydream nation in Chicago at Pitchfork and in Berkeley.

This is a pain. Dirty Three ATP is out even though it’s like the lineup of my life, because it’s the same weekend as Coachella, and my girl wants to go and the JESUS AND MARY CHAIN are playing, and so that will be awesome enough. I’m thinking I’ll do ATP vs. the Fans if I can find some people to go, though Primavera is in the running. I hope I can make the house of love Don’t Look Back, but there’s some other stuff I want to hit – like the Connect Music Fest. We’ll see! But either way, ATP seems to just keep getting better. The ultimate rock vacation. I can’t wait to go back.
